Register for the Junior Golf Program
In fairness to all golfers as a whole, players are assigned the first week according to age group - no exceptions. However, after the first week, every attempt will be made to evaluate and reassign golfers based on event scores. This policy includes returning golfers who have previously competed in a higher division than their peers.

Ultimately, the goal is to place golfers in divisions where they will be most competitive. Division assignments are made solely by the program directors.

Any junior golfer registered in the program, can play free golf when playing with their parents or grandparents between the dates of June 13th – August 22nd.
A series of nine events will be held on Monday’s throughout the summer, beginning June 13th and runs thru August 22nd. Registering in the program will also qualify golfers for the Junior City Championship automatically which will be held on Monday, August 1st.

On June 13th players should report to the west golf course at 11am for free hot-dog, chips, fountain drink and register with their program director who is in charge of your age group. At that time the directors will assign tee times for that day.

*Please do not call the golf course for tee times. If you have any questions regarding tee times please call the program director who is in charge of that division. There will be no rain dates available.
  • 8-11 yr olds | Modified east course: Designed for beginners to sharpen their skills without the additional pressure of keeping pace of play on the longer course. Parent volunteers are greatly appreciated to act as observers and scorekeepers. After the first week the modified east division meets at 10am at the east course clubhouse
  • 12-14 yr olds | 9 hole gold: players in this division must be ready for the challenge of the entire back 9. To better match ability, play is from the forward tees. After the first week the 9 hole gold division tee times start at 11:30 at the east course clubhouse
  • 15-17 yr olds | tour: These are the top golfers from the previous week. For golfers to maintain a position in this division; they must score well over 9 holes from (blue tees) Boys and (forward tees) girls. After the first week the tour division tee times start at 11:30am at the west course.

The First Tee Junior Golf Program is designed for kids 5 to 18. In addition to learning fundamentals of the golf swing and the game, our character education and life skills programs help kids and teens prepare for success at school, at home and in their community.

In every class, we teach a LifeSkill, such as Conflict Resolution, Goal Setting or How to Properly Meet and Greet, along with a golf skill such as putting or chipping. All lessons relate to one or more of our 9 Core Values as well as our 9 Healthy Habits.

9 Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgement.

9 Healthy Habits: Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School and Community

Mission Statement: To make a difference in the lives of young people in Eastern Michigan by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
The cost to participate in our classes vary by class. If you are unable to pay the fees due to financial hardship, scholarships are available. Contact Diane Wojciechowski for more information.

The First Tee Celebration Tournament and Banquet will be held on Monday, August 10th, 2020. Participants will receive tee times according to level enrolled. Banquet times TBD
